DEEP PENETRATION OIL RUSTIC LIGHT DARKER EFFECT

For treating and stabilizing domestic and exotic woods, epoxy resin, leather, metal, plastic, stone… both indoors and outdoors.

Deep penetrating oil is a hard wax oil consisting of pressed organic oils that penetrate deep into the material, as well as wax that closes the pores on the surface and protects against liquids, with nice vanilla scent. It increases the saturation and contrast of colors and over time with a slightly dark rustic effect. It is 100% natural. For very stressed surfaces, we recommend using it in combination with The Mayan Oil WAX (wax), which is used as a final layer. We apply in thin layers.

The uniqueness of DPO DARK lies in its ability to penetrate exceptionally deep into the structure while providing the material with a timeless rustic touch. Its blend of tropical oils saturates the surface from within, leaving a subtle, smoky dark effect, while natural waxes create a resilient micro-layer. This effectively seals the pores, forming a durable shield against moisture, dust, and contaminants.

On matte-sanded surfaces, it accentuates the material’s raw character, while higher sanding grits bring out a luxurious dark gloss with unparalleled depth. It is an indispensable foundation for professionals requiring a specific aesthetic, as well as for home users who wish to breathe an air of elegance into their projects.

THE MAYAN OIL – DPO DARK is engineered for rustic protection and enhancement of:

All Wood Species: Adds depth to light woods and enhances the natural character of dark solid wood pieces.
Metals: Creates an invisible barrier against oxidation and provides metal elements with a deeper, subtle patinated look.

Oil application

Sand the wood and clean the surface. Then dust the fibres with water (apply a little water to the surface and wait for it to evaporate so that the fibres rise). It is a good idea to repeat between each sanding. Ideal results when sanding to P120-P6000. Mix thoroughly in the container. Apply a small amount in thin layers with a sponge or sanding fleece to the prepared surface and massage into the wood (preferably in circular motions). Wait at least 40 minutes before wiping/polishing with a cotton cloth (we recommend micro-fibre cloths from P800) and applying 2 coats. The second coat can be applied 24 hours after wiping/polishing the first coat. Wait 3-5 days before using. For best protection, apply a coat of The Mayan Oil Wax to surfaces exposed to high wear and tear, and for maximum protection, apply a coat of HWA nano ceramic. Apply wax at least 3 days after oil application and nano ceramic at least 4-5 days after wax application.

Theoretical Coverage: 15–45 m² per bottle in a single coat, depending on the material type and, for wood, the sanding grit.
